Purpose of job

The Research Officer (RO) will lead the IeDEA site team to achieve the specific goals of the IeDEA study and CRENC’s overarching objectives efficiently and effectively.

Main Duties and Responsibilities:

The RO will ensure quality throughout the data collection process, adhering to CRENC’s core principles and approved study protocols. Key responsibilities include:

  • Onsite Monitoring and Evaluation: Oversee the monitoring and evaluation of all research projects within the site, ensuring alignment with project objectives.
  • Supervision of Research Activities: Supervise all daily project activities, including monitoring the performance of personnel.
  • Data Collection Participation: Actively participate in data collection for relevant studies, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
  • Reporting: Provide detailed weekly and bi-monthly reports to the central coordinating team, highlighting progress, challenges, and recommendations.
  • Protocol and Ethical Compliance: Ensure rigorous compliance with all research protocols and ethical guidelines.
  • Data Management: Work closely with the data manager to oversee data collection, conducting data quality checks and ensuring timely upload.
  • Administrative Accountability: Maintain accurate and comprehensive administrative records for all project activities and ensure accountability.
  • Additional Duties: Perform other duties as requested by CRENC leadership to support the organization’s objectives.

Education

MSc. in Epidemiology, MPH, MSc. in Clinical Research or a related field.

Work Experience

Previous experience in the field of HIV programs and research

Languages

Fluency in English and French. Proficiency in oral and written English is required.

Assessment

Evaluation of qualified candidates may include an assessment exercise which may be followed by competency-based interview.
