Anastase DZUDIE MD, PhD, FESC

Chair

Professor Anastase DZUDIE MD, PhD, ASR, FESC is a consultant cardiologist and heart rythm specialist working at the Douala General Hospital, Cameroon. He teaches cardiovascular physiology and medicine and human health research methods at university levels. After his training in general Internal medicine, he further specialised in cardiology (2004-2008), with sub-specialities in cardiac echography, cardiac arrhythmias and pacing at Claude Bernard University Lyon, France.

He holds a PhD in cardiovascular medicine (University of Cape Town, South Africa) and an Accreditation to Supervise Research (Pierre et Marie Curie University, Paris, France). Anastase is the chair of the Pan African Society of Cardiology (PASCAR) task force on hypertension and of the CRENC which he co-founded. He initiated or participated several multicentric and multinational studies.

He has co-authored over 85 papers in clinical medicine, 05 book chapters and delivered over 20 lectures at international meetings. His h-index as of January 2018 was 16 with 1084 citations. His current research focus include systemic hypertension, heart failure and cardiometabolic diseases in people with HIV/AIDS.
