About CRENC:

Clinical Research Education, Networking and Consultancy (CRENC) is a Cameroon based research organisation committed to clinical research excellence through the quest for novelty and collaboration (crenc.org).  Its mission is to improve individual and community health though evidence-based interventions. CRENC implements a number of research projects including the International Epidemiology Database to Evaluate AIDS (IeDEA) study.

Purpose of internship:

The intern will work as a team member to effectively learn and acquire skills through learning by doing. This opportunity is in line with CRENC’s mission to promote health and medical research capacity building in Cameroon. The position is also an opportunity to identify and nurture talent in scientific writing, data management, biostatistics, and leadership.

Duties and Responsibilities:

The Intern will be involved in a wide range of activities, ranging from data management, scientific writing, ethics review, preparing and delivering presentations and other duties necessary. Specifically, the Intern will carry out the following task on a day-to-day basis:

  • Assist in Ethics review and submission of protocols.
  • Assist in Data verification and analysis.
  • Prepare and make presentations during research training meetings.
  • Participate in coordination meetings and attend IeDEA meetings whenever the need arises.
  • Assist in scientific writing.
  • Perform other duties related to data quality assurance and control as required by CRENC under the supervision of the Data Manager and the Director of Research.
  • Submit and present a weekly report of activities done.

Competencies:

Education:

  • Masters in Public health, Epidemiology, Biostatistics, Project Management, Ethics or any other fields related to Public Health.

Work Experience:

  • Not needed

Languages:

English and French are the working languages of CRENC. For the post advertised, fluency in oral and written English is required. Proficiency in the French language is an advantage.

Assessment:

Selection of qualified candidates will include an initial review of the CVs of applicants, followed by a competency-based interviews of pre-selected candidates.

CRENC DOES NOT CHARGE A FEE AT ANY STAGE OF THE RECRUITMENT PROCESS (APPLICATION, INTERVIEW MEETING, PROCESSING, TRAINING OR ANY OTHER FEES). CRENC DOES NOT CONCERN ITSELF WITH INFORMATION ON BANK ACCOUNTS.
